Shaker Card

So, my friend Missy and I decided to try a Shaker Card. Our first attempt, wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. In hind sight I wish I'd used more beads in the snow globe, but live and learn - right? I think I will give this card to my Mom for Christmas. I know she will truly appreciate it.

Glittery Snowman Card for my Cousin

My great cousin who appropriately calls herself a GlitterWhore deserved a little bit more of a "blingy" Christmas Card. Although my regular Christmas cards turned out very nice and I like them a lot, they certainly were not glittery enough for her level of glitterness. So, I made her her own special card. This is what I came up with for her.

Baby Shower Invitation

I was asked on Sunday afternoon by my sister-in-laws to whip up some Baby Shower Invitations for my Brother-in-law's wife's baby shower. The shower is in a week and a half, so I didn't have much time to come up with an idea and pull it off, since they need to get sent out NOW! So, this is what I came up with on such short notice. I used Close To My Heart level 2 paper pack that I had on hand (and for some reason had bought duplicate or triplicate of!) I cut the white bookplate from Fab. Finds and cut off one end of it so it would be flat on the one end and I cut the Baby from Stretch Your Imagination. I chalked a little pink on the cheeks of the baby, so it would look rosey cheeked. I inked up the white papers with pink and blue (since they don't know if it's a boy or girl) and threw on some pink, blue, yellow and green ribbon and some mini-skittles. It's not the best work I've done, but I thought that with the short notice it turned out pretty good!

GAS PRICES!!!!!!!

I would have NEVER thought in a million years that I would see gas prices like this ever again!

Then after taking this picture and filling my tank up. A few hours later I was out again and saw gas for 1 penny cheaper than this.

Oh, it's getting better

Ok, so with the help of my dear friend, Missy, got a few things straightened out on the blog. Still have some other things I'd like to figure out how to change, but we'll get there. I guess the more I use it the more I will learn.

Spent Saturday with the family, we did some looking for pricing and information on Pellet Stoves. Looks like one is going to end up being more money than we thought it would be. We only looked at two places, but we will check at at least one more. There aren't too many places close by that sell them. So, we may be limited on how much price shopping we can do.

We went up to visit with our friends on Saturday afternoon / evening, I worked more on my Christmas cards. Didn't get them finished, but did finally finish them on Sunday.
I used the Cuttlebug for the embossing on the Red paper, and the Cricut, (Beyond Birthdays) for the dove. The paper, ribbon and stamp are from CTMH. The B&T paper came in a pack that had the two patterns and was two sided, but the other side was green or red with the design, not multicolored. The Bling at the bottom I bought from my LSS. I pop dotted the dove and then stickled with Crystal around the edge of the dove and used Holly stickles on the branch in the dove's mouth.
And my dear sweet cousin - you may look all you like, because you won't get one of these!! LOL You will get a secretly made one that will be a surprise! And you thought you would be sneaky and find out ahead of time what I would be sending this year!

Frustrated!!

Ok, so I'm getting a little frustrated at this whole Blog set up. I can figure out how to post etc... but can't figure out for the life of me how you get all the cool stuff on there, special backgrounds, counters, etc. I've looked everywhere and nothing seems to tell you how to do it. I'm giving up for the night. Any suggestions / help out there?

My Little Spooks

Took the kids out for a night beautiful night of trick or treating. Couldn't have asked for better weather. I can't remember the last time we had weather in the 60's on Halloween night! Usually it's cold or rainy - yuck!
I think Isabel looked more pretty than scary and Cristian tried hard to be cool as a Ninja. So, here they are in their "bootiful" costumes!
Isabel was complete with a glittery bat pin that we put on her hat and it had matching dangle earrings, which she thought were too cool. The best part of her dress, that unfortunately we couldn't capture on film, (try as we might)was that her dress had fiber optic lines in the skirt that we turned on and they blinked of and on with green lights, very cute!
Cristian had to have the "pack" thing that went on his back that held two swords and two daggers. Which I agree looked really cool, but then the dumb daggers kept falling out all evening and we ended up having to take them out and put them in the trick or treat bag, or we would have spent the whole night collecting daggers rather than candy.

Thanksgiving card

Ok, so somehow I got "volunteered" to host my family's Thanksgiving dinner. So, to make the best of the otherwise unfortunate situation - LOL - I decided to take it to the next level and make some really cute invitaions to the dinner. So, here are my Invitations to the dinner:

Let's Give this a Whirl

Ok, so I followed, not so religiously, a friend of mine's Blog and thought it was cool, but never thought I would do this. Then one of my closest friends decided so start a blog as well, so I thought, why not me too!! So, I'm giving this a shot, we'll see what happens from here!

I guess first and foremost I have to figure out how to set this whole thing up so I like the way it looks and it reflects me... I'm not the computer whiz, so knowing me it will take me a month to just figure out how the darn thing works! LOL

Once I get it figured out I will try to start getting some pictures posted too, but I'm taking baby steps to start with!
